Retail and ECommerce

Objective

Retail & eCommerce (REC) is one of the ITE Skills Subjects offered at Crest Secondary School. It equips students with the knowledge and skills to develop products, build brands, and understand the retail journey from creation to sales.

Students gain hands-on experience in product development, visual merchandising, and digital marketing. They also learn how to engage customers effectively and operate within both physical and online retail environments.

Students participate in authentic retail experiences that simulate real-world business environments. They are involved in product creation, branding, and customer interaction, developing confidence and professionalism. A key highlight of the programme is the focus on sustainable retail practices, where students explore upcycling and create environmentally responsible products.

Merchandise Magic

Students design and produce merchandise such as tote bags and cup sleeves. They apply design thinking, typography, and digital tools while learning fabrication and branding techniques.

Serve Up RECeption

Students showcase and sell their products in an authentic setting. They apply marketing research, customer service, and sales techniques such as upselling and cross-selling.

Synopsis of Retail & eCommerce

Students will:

• Develop product concepts and branding strategies
