Key Student Development Experiences (Sec 1)
Sec 1 Reboot – Embracing My Crest Journey
As our Secondary One students step into secondary education, they embark on a transformative "reboot" beginning their Crest journey. This pivotal year helps students embrace a fresh start, integrate into the Crest family, and develop foundational character traits guiding their educational journey.
Secondary One Camp
The overnight camp, which takes place in mid of Term 1, serves as the reboot experience where students conquer rock walls, complete a hike, and engage in dragon boating and outdoor cooking fostering teamwork and care, finishing off with a campfire igniting the Crestan Spirit.
Basketball Interclass Competition
The Basketball Interclass competition demonstrates teamwork while developing social awareness and relationship management skills. Through friendly competition, our Sec one students learn collaboration, support classmates with care, strive for excellence, and reinforce integrity in sportsmanship.
Cycling Programme
The cycling programme embodies the reboot journey, challenging students to develop resilience to master cycling skills and overcoming obstacles. Students demonstrate excellence through persistent practice, building endurance and confidence. They go through a cycling expedition showcasing their abilities, teamwork, and determination and also caring for their safety.
Learning Journeys
Authentic learning journeys bring lessons alive in real-world contexts. Students apply classroom knowledge meaningfully, strengthening problem-solving and critical thinking while developing integrity and social awareness, making learning engaging and purposeful for their reboot journey.
By the end of the year, students emerge with strong foundations in school values, enhanced social-emotional competencies, and confidence to grow as adventurous, benevolent, and charismatic Crestans ready to contribute meaningfully to their school and wider community.
