Music Teacher Requirements
Job Description

Develop engaging and relevant teaching resources for the Music curriculum, including instrumental techniques, sight-reading, and music theory.

Plan and coordinate level-wide performance programmes and enrichment activities that promote school values and character development.

Incorporate ICT-based lesson designs to support classroom and home-based learning.

Conduct innovative and authentic music lessons using a range of pedagogical approaches and experiential learning opportunities.

Monitor students’ progress and provide regular assessments and feedback.

Offer remediation and after-school support to support student growth.

Maintain effective classroom management and support a conducive learning environment.

Serve as a Form Teacher to lead Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) and provide holistic pastoral care, working closely with families and support personnel.

Plan and implement CCAs that nurture students’ talents, interests, and leadership.

Contribute to departmental duties, including programme development, event coordination, procurement, and resource management.
Job Requirements

A recognized degree and teaching qualification (e.g., from the National Institute of Education). Relevant work experience is an added advantage.

Understanding of and sensitivity to the learning profiles of N(T)/G1 students.

Passionate about using music education to support student growth and confidence.

Skilled in building strong rapport with students to motivate and engage them.

Creative, adaptable, and able to use a variety of instructional strategies and media.
